The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and wildlife is waking from its winter-long slumber. The weather in Gatlinburg is about as perfect as it can be. We all know what this means! The Smoky Mountain Springfest is here! During this three month long celebration of all the Smoky Mountain’s incredible beauty, the city streets overflow with baskets of pansies, mandevillas, daffodils, tulips lantanas, scaveolas and more! Flowers are everywhere, for as far as the eye can see, while nature awakes all around this picturesque town. And, in the midst of this pure beauty, a celebration takes place!
Though Mother Nature is truly the main draw of this festival, it is not the only thing that draws crowds. Live entertainment can be found along sidewalks, filling the sweetened air with music and merriment. Guests that attend this wonderful celebration can also expect to see unique handcrafted wares, created by the members of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, as well as free tram rides, a Sunrise Service, and the annual Easter Arts & Crafts show, all on Easter weekend.
You’ll also find that the air isn’t just filled with the smell of sweet roses and daffodils, but also with the tangy, smoky scents of delectable wings and ribs. This, of course, is the smell of Gatlinburg’s Ribfest & wings in April! With over 30 vendors from all over the Southeast, you’ll be able to revel in the wonderful flavors of all the Barbecue you could ever want! Add in the wonderful live blues entertainment, as well as tons of fun, and you get a street fest you won’t ever forget.
Other amazing events that take part during the Smoky Mountain Springfest include the Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage—hosted by Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Gatlinburg Garden Club, and the University of Tennessee Botany Department, Gatlinburg’s Scottish Festival & Games Grand Parade, Gatlinburg’s Fine Arts Festival, Gatlinburg’s all new Mountainfest, and more!
With all this, spring time in Gatlinburg is as doubtlessly one of the most fun experiences you’ll ever have! So come on down to Gatlinburg for the wonderful Smoky Mountainfest, you won’t ever forget it!
