What to Expect

The Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights is a 45 minute ride aboard a comfortable Gatlinburg Trolley that drives through the city’s stunning Christmas light displays as part of Smoky Mountain Winterfest. This is the perfect way to soak up the holiday spirit with your family and friends! The unique LED light displays appear along Gatlinburg’s famous downtown Parkway and the adjacent River Road, as well as on the triangle junction of the two roads. Among the $1.6 million custom designed and fabricated lighting displays, visitors will see everything from traditional holiday favorites such as dancing snowmen to unique displays of animals indigenous to the Great Smoky Mountains. Keep your eyes out for displays featuring foxes, rabbits, squirrels, deer and other critters!

Dates, Times and Location

The Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights runs three times nightly from now until the end of December, and on each Saturday night in January. There are several nights on which the trolley route does not run, which are the first Friday in December, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The departure times are at 6:30pm, 7:30pm and 8:30pm on each night of operation, and all rides leave from the Mass Transit Center at traffic light #5 in Gatlinburg.

The Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights is the best bargain in town at just $5.00 per person! Children under the age of 3 are admitted for free as long as they are sitting in an adult’s lap.
