Is there anything more enchanting than seeing the sparkling Christmas lights hung up all around town? It’s probably one of our favorite things about the holiday season in the Smokies. If you and your family want to take a trip to town during your stay at our cabins, one of the best things to do is going to look at the Christmas lights. Your family will love getting to explore Gatlinburg. There are so many great sights to see. Here are our favorite ways to enjoy the Christmas lights in Gatlinburg TN.

1. Lights Over Gatlinburg at the SkyLift Park

One of the best places to take in the Christmas lights is the SkyLift Park! The attraction hosts its annual Lights Over Gatlinburg event, which includes more than 40,000 lights, including a 300-foot tunnel of lights on the SkyBridge! From the top, you’ll also have a view of all the Christmas lights in downtown Gatlinburg. Be sure to check out the 30-foot Christmas tree structure while you’re there that has lights animated to holiday music!

Tip: Visit the SkyLift Park during the day, then return at night for the Lights Over Gatlinburg event. Tickets allow you to visit the park in the day and re-enter at night to see the lights.

2. Gatlinburg’s Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade

The Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade in Gatlinburg is usually held the first week of December. It is an extravagant celebration with marching bands, giant balloons, and even Old St. Nick himself makes an appearance each year. One of the best reasons to go to the parade is to see the giant floats covered in Christmas lights. Community members and local businesses really put in a lot of effort to make the parade each year better than the last!

Tip: Admission to the parade is free. Be sure to check the forecast for the day and bundle up in case of chilly weather.

3. Enjoy Lights and Decorations at The Village

You can enjoy seeing the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations while you’re getting your shopping done at The Village. This tourist hot spot features nearly 30 stores and some places to eat. You can find really unique gifts for those you love. The Village will be decorated with Christmas garland and lights so it’s a great place to spend time this holiday season.

4. Get an Aerial View on the Gatlinburg Space Needle

From the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle, you and your family will have a front row seat to a breathtaking view of the Christmas lights in Gatlinburg TN. The structure offers a panoramic view of the city. The attraction also has a huge Christmas tree above the viewing platform, so it adds even more Christmas cheer.

Tip: This attractions offers both a military and senior discount, so be sure to ask about that when you purchase your tickets.
